Community
"Sangha" is the Sanskrit term for "community of practitioners" -- one of the three jewels of Buddhism. The Miami Shambhala Meditation Group, as part of a wonderfully diverse community, welcomes all who share a genuine connection to contemplative practice and the aspiration to realize a more wakeful, sane society.
In addition to our weekly Dharma Gatherings, from time to time the Miami Shambhala Meditation Group also holds social events, special programs and celebrations. Members and friends of the Shambhala Center are warmly welcome to attend any event offered, no matter their level of practice.
In addition to our local community, Shambhala is a member of an ever-widening circle of practitioners, teachers and aspirants. Most major cities in the world now have a Shambhala Center and we also have rural practice centers which offer deeper study and practice.

RACHEL FARO and CATHRYN STEIN are the coordinators of the Miami Shambhala Meditation Group
RACHEL FARO founded the Miami Shambhala Meditation Group in 2005. A close student of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, she has been practicing and studying within the Shambhala lineage since 1972. She is also a well-known singer/songwriter and record producer and the president of Ashé Records, a world music record label.
CATHRYN STEIN has been practicing within the Shambhala lineage since 1973. Also a close student of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, she was an original member of the Nalanda Translation Committee which played an important role in bringing the practice and teachings of Tibetan Buddhism to the West.
